WD Sneak Peek- Day 2, Hanging Around Halloween Door Hanger

Quick Update on Ricky!

Thanks so much to each and everyone of you who have been praying for my son and his eye injury. I know prayers are being answered because we got more good news yesterday at the Retinal Specialists. His retina appears to be attached with a low risk of having any problems. He is seeing out of his right eye, but could only see the biggest letter E on the eye chart. It is still improvement from the night of the accident so I am relieved at that. The blood that has collected inside his eye is slowly being absorbed and settling which will continue to improve and should allow his vision to eventually return to normal. His is supposed to be taking it very easy and we are continuing with frequent drops and ointments to help his corneal laceration heal.
Thank you all for your continued prayers until he is back to normal!!
Whimsie Doodles Sneak Peek Day 2: Hanging Around

So did you enjoy your sneak peeks of yesterday's image? Did you sign up to have a chance at winning the free set yesterday on the WD blog? Well I just found out that every day this week as a new sneak peek is revealed you will have a chance at winning that set on Saturday the first of August. So if you visit the WD blog each day, you will have a chance at winning each of the new stamp sets being released this week! I hope that you are going to do that. All these new realeases are amazingly cute!!
Today's project is one that I am really stoked about! I love how it came out and I can't wait to show you! It uses the Hanging Around image which is of a spider and its web. Even if you are an arachnophobe, you won't be with this cute little bugger!

I decided to make a door hanger that can be displayed on a front door for the Halloween season. And here is how it came out...

The finished project is about 9x12 inches. It is made out of cardstock with a chipboard backing and it is designed to look like a banner of sorts. The BOO word is a MM chipboard accessory that I bought last year and have been hoarding for just the right time. I thought now was as good a time as ever. I modge podged the DP (from MM) to the top of the letters. IRL it looks brighter than it shows up on film.

Here is a closer look at the completed project on a white background...

Here is a close up view of the image that we are showcasing today...

Hanging Around digistamp preview from Whimsie Doodles

Didn't I tell you that he is just adorable? Who could be afraid of that little spider? If you look carefully you might be able to see that I glittered the web after I colored it in with my Copic Markers? Then using an Exacto knife I carefully cut around it and adhered it to the top of the last "O" in BOO!
Today we are also beginning to showcase some of the Halloween Button Sentiments that will also be released on Saturday. The Treat circle below uses one of those sentiments. Did you notice that the letter "T" is actually syringes? Isn't that just perfectly creepy for Halloween? I love it!!

For this button sentiment I enlarged it to about 3 inches and then framed it with a nestie circle and nestie scalloped circle. The great thing about digital stamps in png format is that you can reduce or enlarge them to fit your needs and they don't lose any quality when printed.
And here is one last look at my completed project...

You are AWESOME!! What a great idea to turn it into home decor. OMword, I had that same Boo but gave it away in a swap. I wonder if she'll send it back. lol! This is just so cute for words, I am completely blown away at all the elements that you combined for this door hanger - both debuts today, bling on the carefully cut out web, stitching on the Boo. I could go on and on. ;) Soooo happy your son is doing better!

Glad to hear that your son's retina is ok and that the healing is going (slowly) well! It must have been so scary to find out the news. HUGS.

The door hanger is wicked, Kelly! I love it and want to steal it for my door ;)
