Whimsie Doodles Sneak Peek- For Teacher

Today I am coming to you from Gainesville, FL where I am surrounded by moving boxes in an attempt to finish packing up my daughter and get her moved into her new apartment! I am going to have to make this short and sweet today!! But I have a lot of pictures to share with you!!
Today's sneak peak from Whimsie Doodles is another one of the new School related files being released on August 1st. This set is called For Teacher and it includes the sweetest images that you can use to make thank you gifts for the favorite teachers in your life. But of course they can also be used for other reasons as well.
And here is a cute desk set that I made using this set...

Desktop Organizer

Here is a closeup view of the organizer all decorated with the adorable stamped image!

Closeup view of Desktop Organizer

The notepad holder is made using one of Lauren Meader's Timeless Templates called the Desktop Organizer. On the bottom of each sheet of paper, I shrunk down the size of the pencil holder digistamp and printed it out. I used PowerPoint to make the phrase "A Note from the Teacher" that I also added to the bottom of the paper.

Here is the matching pencil holder...

I made it from a Pringles can that I cut down and covered with the Cosmo Cricket DP.

Here is a closeup of the digistamp I used all colored in with my Copics.

Only two days left until you can purchase any or all of these wonderful digistamp sets that I have been previewing for you!

Check out the Whimsie Doodles blog for another sneak peek from the For Teacher set that is going on sale being August 1st.

Have a wonderful day and may your bucket overflow with happiness!!

Whimsie Doodles Sneak Peek- School Sentiments

This is the second post for today, so please continue to scroll down to see the first post! I have been busy, busy, busy!! LOL!!

Posting my project today makes me a little nervous because it took me out of my comfort zone a bit. It seems that I have become a card maker more than a scrapbooker. But, nonetheless, I decided to do a scrapbook page and since I do them so infrequently anymore I don't feel overly confident with how they turn out! I typically scrapbook double page spreads, but because this is the first page in my daughter's School Year's book, it only could have one page! I based this sketch loosely off of a layout I saw called "A Father's Love" in the June 09 CK issue on page 24.

Kindergarten Here I Come!

The digistamp set I am previewing for you here comes from the School Sentiments set at Whimsie Doodles. It is another great set filled with some really great titles and sayings that will be perfect for many of your school related scrapbook pages or cards! I also used the bus image from the School Things set that I showed you a peek of earlier this week!

Here is a look at the great new stamp set from Whimsie Doodles called School Sentiments that will be released for sale on Saturday, August 1st...

Can't you just see the number of possibilities that you can use this stamp set for? And don't forget that because these are digital stamps, you get to download them immediately after purchase and you can even alter their sizes as you see necessary! Digistamps are so versatile, I think they are wonderful!
To see another preview of this great set, please visit the Whimsie Doodles blog and take another sneak peek! Only three more days until these sets go on sale!! Woohoo!!!
Keep scrolling down for today's other post!! I am heading up to Gainesville today where my oldest daughter and I will be helping pack up her sister and preparing to move her into a new apartment tomorrow. Then, Friday morning it is off to CHA for me!! Eeeek!! I am so excited!!

Sweet Sketch Wednesday

It's another sweet Wednesday in blogville because today is the day that another Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch is revealed!! We are now up to sketch number 8! Have you been playing along with us? Well if you haven't, it's not too late to jump in and have some fun creating some projects with these great guides!!
Arlana has produced yet another wonderful sketch! Take a look at this one...

This sketch is very versatile and makes that base to a wonderful card that could be created over and over again. Just by changing out your stamps and embellishments, this sketch could be used many times and have a different look each time. In fact, go check out what the rest of the DT has done with this sketch on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog and you will see what I mean!
Here is what I decided to do with this week's Sweet Sketch #8...

Monochromatic Hello

I decided to go with a monochromatic theme and to stamp a solid image. I used two Unity stamps for this card. The herb stamp is from the July 09 KOM and the sentiment comes from the April 09 KOM. I used Stampin Up's old olive for my accent cardstock and the ink. To add a little flair I edge punched one of the mats with a Martha Stewart border punch. The flower accent is from Prima and the ribbon source is unknown, but definitely matched my monochromatic color scheme!
I was happy with how this turned out and will be giving this to one of the features from Share A Card as an encouragement card!
Please try and play along when you get the chance. We would love to see what you can do with this sweet sketch! Simply create your card and then head over to the SSW blog to enter a link to the photo of your card into the Mr Linky!
Hope you have a sweet Wednesday and may your bucket overflow with creativity!

Whimsie Doodles Sneak Peek- School Bears

OK this new set being released from Whimsie Doodles on August 1st is one you just have to see! It is called School Bears and the boy and girl bears sporting backpacks are so stinking adorable!! I just love to see the things that Melyssa creates... she is so talented and I can always think of fun things to do with her digistamps.

Below is a picture of the new set called School Bears. It comes complete with a boy and girl bear heading off to school and it also has the title or sentiment stamp called Back To School!

Was I right? Aren't they just adorable??

I decided to make a back-to-school card with the boy School Bear. The sketch I followed is from Card Positioning Systems sketch CPS126.

I colored the School Bear digistamp image with my Copic markers. The DP is from Sassafrass Lass' Indian Summer collection called Acorn Frenzy. The blue CS is from the Paper Co. and the red CS is from DCWV. The ABC stickers are from Basic Grey. I am not sure who made the twill tape, or the brads, but the buckle is from MM.

The sentiment I am using comes from another one of the releases coming out on August 1st called School Sentiments. You will see more of that great collection in tomorrow's sneak peeks! The neat thing about the upcoming releases is that they all combine together perfectly and can be mixed and matched so you can complete all your school related projects. You won't want to get just one of the releases... trust me... you are going to want them ALL!!! LOL!!

When you see the sentiment in it's collection tomorrow, you will notice that it actually says "it's off to school I go" instead of "U" go. By using a little trick that I am happy to show you, you can make minor modifications to your digistamps to make them work for you! I will show you a tutorial on how to alter your digistamps like that when I return from moving my daughter and CHA later this week. Right now I am swamped trying to get everything done before I leave!

To see more sneak peeks of the School Bears digistamp set, please visit the Whimsie Doodles Blog today!

The new images will be available for purchase from the Whimsie Doodles Store on August 1st!

I hope you have a great Tuesday and may your bucket overflow with continued fun during the summer because it's back to school time before we know it!

Whimsie Doodles Sneak Peak- School Things!

On the first and the fifteenth of every month, Whimsie Doodles will be releasing some more of Melyssa's wonderfully creative digistamps. That means that for the few days preceding each release, you will be able to see some things that the other DT members and I are creating with her awesome stamps!

With school starting back just around the corner, the stamps being released on August 1st are all school related! Wait til you get to see them all... you are going to love them!!

The first sneak I am sharing with you is coming from her set called School Things. It is full of the cutest images that you can imagine using for any of your school related projects.

For each of my kids I have been working on albums that are filled with each of thier school years photos. The albums that house theses layouts are solid black and have a window in the front of them where you can put a title page. For years this window has been empty with nothing filling the space that should be telling the people viewing the album what is inside.
Well, thanks to this new School Things release, that has all changed now! Using three of the files from the School Things set and one from the School Button sentiments (also being released on August 1st) I have created this adorable title page for my daughter Tiffany's album.

Here is the closeup of the insert that I made...

This was my first attempt at making a hybrid digi layout. I used Photoshop Elements 7.0 after the help of my new friend Vianna taught me a few things. The digi paper I used is FREE from the Shabby Princess site and is called Sun Porch by Amy Teets. In photoshop I made my background so that the size would be big enough to fit in the window of my album, and then I opened all the digi files I wanted to use and dragged their layers onto the background and resized them to fill the page as I saw fit. The beauty of the digistamps is that they can be resized so easily!
I printed the red star, and the green quote tag onto other papers from the same digi paper set and paper pieced them on top of the other layers. Using an exacto knife I cut the inner part of the apple out and placed my daughter's picture behind it. The pencil was printed on to white CS and then colored in with my Copics. I added the pencil line using a fine tipped marker.
I can't wait to show you more of what Whimsie Doodles has in store for the August 1st releases. Keep coming back and you will get to see some more sneak peeks!! Also head on over to the Whimisie Doodles store today and again on release day! The digistamps are so affordable!!
Have a great day and may your bucket overflow with happiness!!

Quick Reminder and a Special Birthday Today!!

Don't forget that the July issue of SheetLoad of Cards is available for download and there is still time to enter the monthly challenges and win FREE digital stamps from the July sponsor, Squigglefly!!

Head on over today and find out how to enter the July Shout Out to SheetLoad and Show Us Your SheetLoad contests.

Now with my DT duties out of the way I wanted to wish a special someone a very happy birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIFFANY!!!!

Tiffany is my third daughter who recently graduated from high school and is preparing for a career in law enforcement. She has a new job working very closely with our local Police Department and she just LOVES it!! I think she was made for this field of work and she will be very good at it.

Tiffany is on the right with her good friend Jessica!

Tiffany is a sweet and fun loving young lady who has made me so proud. It is never hard to get her to smile, even if she thinks she is mad at me!! She loves to laugh and have a good time, yet she always tries to set a good example for her friends. We love her so much and hope that she has a very special today!
She decided on her own to go PARASAILING today to celebrate her birthday! This scares me to death! But, since she is 19 and an adult, I didn't try to stop her! I will try and share photos of that with you at a later date! I am sure she will have a good time!

Using my new favorite technique of coloring on a black and white image printed on acetate, I made this card for her birthday...

The photo was a random image I found on the internet. I used my new "flying high" stamp that came in the Unity In-Store only kit called 100% Happiness. The rest of the sentiment was computer generated. The DP is from We R Memory Keepers.

She is going to love this card since it will always remind her of her 19th birthday when she went parasailing! Later today we are going to have a cookout with her friends on the lake and spend some time in the pool, on the boat or kayaks and jet skiing! It sounds like a fun packed day... just the kind Tiffany likes!

I wanted to leave you with some of the layouts that I have done of Tiffany in the past. I can't believe that it has been 19 years since she was born. My how time flies!!

Sorry for the long post, but thanks for taking a glimpse into my life and celebrating with me my special daughter's birthday!

I hope you have a great day and may your bucket overflow with many special memories of the loved ones in your life!

It's Hip Hop Hangover Day!!

Thanks for hopping over for the Hip Hop Hangover Blog Hop. Did you start at the Unity Blog? If not, click HERE to start at the beginning and not miss any of the special creations made by Unity Stamp Co. fans!!

Wasn't yesterday's Unity Hip Hop fun? That new Hauntingly Sweet Halloween set by Lisa Hetrick is so adorable and I am going to have to break down and buy it because I can't pass up a sale! LOL! I am also stoked about all the past kits of the month being on sale for $35. When you add the 10% discount on the total order, you can get a past kit of the month for only $31.50!!! I think I am only missing 3 of the past kits!! Unity's kits are awesome and they are the best bargain if you are a kit club member, so I strongly recommend that you become a member if you haven't already!!

Also, since a lot of Unity fans are going to be hopping by today, I wanted to share with you the link to where I purchased my In-Store only Unity Kit called 100% Happiness.

I loved this kit and knew I had to have it when I saw it, but no LSS's carry Unity close to me. So I found Paper Maniac, an on-line store, through a thread on the Unity Forum and purchased my kit there. Patricia Olson who runs the store is fantastic and professional. She had my stamps in the mail the same day I ordered them. She also has a monthly AutoShip program for all the new Unity In-Store releases that are coming out!

She has only ONE KIT LEFT so hurry over if you are interested!!

So, without further delay, here are a couple of cards I made yesterday to share with you today!

This card uses the Pocket, Posies and sentiment stamps from Unity's July KOM. I LOVE this kit! I can see me using it over and over again!! The card was made for this week's Clean and Simple challenge CAS24 which was to use turquoise, orange and yellow colors! I tried to keep it clean and simple, but two mats and many rhinestones later I hope it still fits the CAS category!! LOL!!

My second card was made for the "stamp and go" challenge that Jeanne gave us for one of the Hip Hop challenges yesterday! We were to stamp a line image stamp (no solids) and then leave it alone without coloring or paper piecing it! Now that was definitely a challenge for me! I like how this turned out, but I did add a few tiny rhinestones to the pears for just a touch of extra. The pear stamp is from the July KOM and the sentiments from the June KOM.

Thanks so much for looking and I hope your bucket is filled with fun blogs to hop to!!

Simple, Special and Stunning Feature on SheetLoad!

I am still alive, I promise!! Things are a little crazy right now!! My house was turned upside down for a while yesterday while my Internet provider and email address were changed! Going without the Internet stinks!! And having to update all your accounts with a new email address really stinks!! My email addy has been updated on Blogger, but should you need it, it is sownsew25@verizon.net
To make things worse, my computer is filled to the brim with data and has been running really slowly. [Enter new external hard drive here] And now I am trying to free up some ever needed disk space on my C drive!!
The good news is that once I am back in business completely, I should be working at warp speed with the new fiberoptic internet connection and the clean hard drive that I am preparing! I guess it will be worth it all when I see some improvement! Never for a minute did I think that I could fill up the whole hard drive on my computer. I guess it is all those pictures of cards that I save on my computer! LOL!!
I have been working on projects for my Design Teams that I can't show you quite yet, but in the meantime, I would like to send you over to the SheetLoad site to share with you a relatively new feature that Alicia has been having.
It is called Simple, Special, Stunning and basically one of the DT members creates a card using the SheetLoad sketch in three different levels. The first card shows how you can make a simple card following the sketch. The second card shows how you can step it up a notch and the third card shows how to make it stunning!!
This month Jessica George is up and she has three adorable cards to show you that use the July issue sketch and a cute digital image from Squigglefly.
Click HERE to see the Simple, Special, Stunning post at SheetLoad!
I have some neighbors coming over tonight to scrapbook with me! Any luck, I will have something to post on my blog tomorrow! I also have a bunch of new Unity stamps that arrived that I am chomping at the bit to use, as well as, some new Whimsie Doodles digistamps to get colored!
Also, just so you know, the blog candy has been claimed and should be in the mail tomorrow!!
Have a great night and thanks for stopping by!! I pray that your bucket is overflowing with lots of speed while surfing the internet and plenty of space on your computer's hard drive!!

And the Winner is....

****Jacqueline****

Congratulations Jacqueline you have won my blog candy in
celebration of making 10,000 + hits on my blog!

Here is the wonderful prize package your are going to be receiving!!

The Fine Print: To randomly select the number, I gave a number value to each Follower, and a letter value to each comment and Mr Linky link. There were 117 Followers and a total of 40 other entries. After the first 26 letters I assigned double letters. To be fair to those who left comments and links, I inserted their letter values into the number values every 4th number. The total number of entries was 157. When I plugged that number into random.org to draw my number. It chose the number "130" which turned out to be Follower number 98. Which was Jacqueline!! I don't claim to be a statistician, but I tried to do this the fairest way possible. The winner stands as is!!

Jacqueline, you have until Tuesday to email me and let me know your mailing address. You can contact me HERE. If the winner does not claim her prize, I will select another winner by random.org to replace her on Wednesday!

Congratulations Jacqueline!!

Thanks so much to all of you for playing along in my blog candy drawing! I really do appreciate you Following my blog! I will be back tomorrow with some projects to share with you and until then, enjoy the rest of your weekend and may your bucket overflow with some good rest and relaxation!!

HHH with Hodge Podge of Happiness!!

Yeah for Friday's and Hip Hop Hangovers!! Yesterday's Hip Hop was so inspiring (well of course it always is!) But I am in love with the new set that WE the customers of Unity hand picked! Didn't we do an awesome job?? If you don't know what I am talking about, a while back, Angela gave us a choice of three stamps all designed by the same designer and the Unity Forum voted on which of the stamps to include in the collection. She kept giving us more choices until we had filled a complete collection. It was so cool to see the set come together!

The Hodge Podge of Happiness was available for purchase (if you didn't preorder it) yesterday. Those of us who preordered it received them this week in our mail boxes!! Woot Woot!!

Take a look at this awesome kit!!!

Once mine arrived, I couldn't put it down and put together three cards, all using the Hodge Podge of Happiness!

And here are the cards that I made...

Wedding Wishes

This card follows the color challenge from SCS CC227. The DP is from MM Black Tie collection, the lavender CS is from SU. Using my Copics, I just subtly added some color to the cake to make it look like the frosting was lightly airbrushed. I added a silver pen to the cake rack to make it look metallic.

Sending Happy Thoughts

Recognize these colors and patterns? You might have seen the bed set that is the latest inspiration for Unity's Addict Challenge USC42. All the little dots of flowers in the flower pot were hand cut and paper pieced. The DP's are from MM and DCWV.

And for my last one...

Little Cup of Happy

This little card is whimsical and light because of that cute stamped image being paired with the adorable Cosmo Cricket papers. The cup was colored onto plain white CS and then paper pieced onto the plaid background paper. I had to color the felt button with my Copic marker to make it match the card!! :-) The sketch for this card is the SCS Sketch Challenge, SC237.

Well, that does it for now! I hope you have a wonderful day of Hip Hopping the Hangover! To see all the blogs that are posting Unity today, please visit the Unity Blog or you can jump to the blogs from THIS forum Post too!

Don't Forget.... Only 2 More days for your chance to win BLOG CANDY!!!

Have a great day and here's hoping that your bucket overflows with a Hodge Podge of Happiness!!

Quick post today!

Sorry for being so late in posting today! I am off from work and am taking advantage of the time to do some organizing in the home finances department. Every so often I like to take a look and ensure that everything is going as planned in that area. It isn't fun, but it has to be done!

Yesterday was a fabulous mail day as the new Hodge Podge of Happiness kit from Unity arrived in my box! I was so happy to see it arrive that I sat right down and created three cards to share on tomorrow's Hip Hop Hangover!

But until then, if you want to see some more things created with this great kit, simply go to the Unity blog and start their Hip Hop blog hop!! Most of the DT members have used this newest kit in their projects and you won't be disappointed with what they have to show you!

Click HERE to start Hip Hopping!!

But before you leave, I have one quick card to show you. I created this for a friend of ours who just found out that she was having a girl. This is going to be her last pregnancy and with a boy already at home, they really wanted a girl. Lo and behold they got good news with their last Ultrasound and a girl it will be!!

I wanted to give them a little something to show them how happy I was for them!

With some of the leftovers of the K&Co. papers I had been using , and with the help of Monday's Faux Grid technique from SCS TLC229, I created this card...

The stamp set is from Stampin Up set called A Little Love. The ribbons are from Michael's and the flowers are Prima.

I will see you back here tomorrow for the Hip Hop Hangover and get to share with you some of the new Unity stamps!!

Have a great day and may your bucket overflow with happy mail full of new stamps!!

An Inspired Sneak Peek!

MY BLOG CANDY contest is still going on! CLICK HERE for more information and to join in!! Contest closes on Saturday July 18th!

I am so excited to show you today's Sneak Peek project that I made for Whimsie Doodles! Remember, tomorrow the newly released digistamps will be available for purchase! Do you like what you have seen so far??? I think her digis just keep getting better and better and it is such a treat to get to work with them!

Sometimes things just fall into place and serendipitously inspiration can follow! Well, on Sunday I was trying to finish up my Sneak Peeks for WD when I decided to check out what SCS had as their inspirational challenge on Saturday. Occasionally it works out that I can combine a couple of challenges together (and you know how I love to do that! ) LOL!

So, IC188 from SCS sent us to this adorable website called Chasing Fireflies. From there I immediately was inspired to create something for today's sneak peek!

The image that I have to share with you today comes from one of Melyssa's latest digistamp sets called "Toothfairy." It is the most precious set and you can see it below...

She also made a boy version that is just as cute!!

Click HERE to see the inspiration from the Chasing Fireflies website that my project came from.

And here is what I created!! It is an adorable Toothfairy Box Door Hanger!!!

Who says you have to leave your kids teeth under their pillow?? Unfortunately my youngest child is 15 and hasn't lost a tooth in a very long time! But then I realized that my puppy is starting to get loose teeth! Do you think the toothfairy comes for dogs?? LOL!!

My project started out as a dollar find door hanger from Michael's. In fact there were three door hangers in one pack!

Add a little DP from K&Co. to the door hanger, make a box to hold the tooth and add lots of embellishments and you too can have your very own Toothfairy Box Door Hanger!

The box to hold the tooth was made using the Origami Box instructions by Jen Balcer in the SCS Resources section. Instead of using a sheet of paper 11 x 11 to start with, I cut mine in half to 5.5 x 5.5 so that my finished box would measure two instead of four inches.

The DP's are all from K&Co's Wild Raspberry Line. The flowers are from Prima. I used my Copics to color the Toothfairy, and to change the color of some of my glitter brads and flowers. I added clear glossy accents from InkEssentials to the tooth to make it look like a real shiny tooth with enamel! The box is held closed with a piece of coordinating twill tape and the box lid has two flowers attached with a brad to use as a handle!

Please head on over to the Whimsie Doodles Blog and check out what Melyssa has to show you today!
Also fellow DT member Nikki has a special sneak to share with you on HER BLOG!

Have a great day and may your bucket overflow with serendipitous inspiration!!
