Ippity Spring Release Hip Hop

Welcome to this week's Unity and Ippity DT Hip Hop.

Today is a very special day.  Not only will you get to see some more of the Ippity DT's projects using the new stamps, plus a lot of amazing Unity stuff from the Unity DT girls, but you will also get to see what some of the Ippity Chicks have also created with the new sets for the release!

The long three month wait for new Ippity stamps is over!!

The Ippity Spring 2010 Collection is HERE!!
Woohoo!!!

Isn't it amazing!!!

Now all you have to do is find your Ippity Chick and order yours today!!
Be sure to do it quickly so you can ensure that you get your sets while your chick still has stamps in stock.

Need an Ippity Chick to buy from?
Then just click HERE to locate one near you!

I have a couple of cards to share with you today.  The first one uses this week's Hip Hop Sketch for this week's challenge.  Our very own Maria designed the sketch for us.  You can play along with us and upload it to the SCS Gallery using the keywords Unity and HHSC07.

I love this sketch and I chose to use the flower stamp and flourish from the Now and Always set and the sentiments from the Fall For You set.  The DP is from October Afternoon.

The extra details I added were buttons from Clear and Simple stamps.  The border punch from Martha Stewart and some machine stitching!  I paper pieced the flower stamp in two different colors and layered them on top of each other.

My second card is for one of the challenges that will be posted on the Ippity Forum for our New Release Celebration.  Lisa A is the hostess for this challenge and she has made it a color challenge.  We are to use the following colors...

This was truly a challenge for me because I didn't have any DP on hand that had all of these colors in it.  So, I had to kind of put some separates together.  What do you think?

The flower and sentiment stamps come from the A Little Buggy collection.  And I also used the A Bit of Burlap stamp with a window masked out of it to stamp the flowers into.  The stamps from the Little Buggy set are all so fun and whimsical.  It was a joy to create a sweet and happy card like this!

To create this card, I used this week's sketch from the challenge on SCS.  It is SC280.

Instead of stamping the center flower bud, I chose to replace it with a button!  I added two paper strips and folded them to look like ribbon tabs.  The Happy sentiment was popped up with pop dots for added dimension.  I went into my DP archives for this paper.  It comes from the DCWV Nursery for Boys collection.  The flowers are from Prima.

Our big New Release Party is on the SCS forums
today at 10am CST.
Be sure to join us... it is going to be a lot of fun!!

Now head over to Lisa Arana's blog to see what special treats she has in store for you!

The bunny and sentiment for my card come from the {ippity} set called

I colored the bunny in using Copic markers and popped it up on pop dots!  I stitched around the panels and zig zagged down the edges of the card base.  I stitched a basting stitch onto the cream satin ribbon and then gathered it allowing it to twist and turn.

The DP is from the new line of October Afternoon that is supposedly being shipped as we speak!!  Yeah!!

So, on to today's post which is near and dear to my heart!

There are so many things that I just love about Melyssa Connolly, owner and stamp designer of Whimsie Doodles stamps.  Not only is she super sweet and super talented, but she also has a soft spot in her heart for animals!!  As you know we rescued Tasha (our puppy) almost a year ago from a shelter and so animal shelters are something that we in our family feel strongly should receive support from us!

PCP challenge Blinkie

Melyssa has designed a special stamp set full of wonderful stamped images of cats and dogs and whimsical sayings too.  And she is graciously donating ALL of the proceeds from the stamp sales to a local SPCA.

So why don't you do your part and buy the set today!!

Are these not the cutest images ever!!!
And the best news is you can get them all in digital format for
only $5... for the whole set!!

Isn't that a wonderful bargain?  Please help us help homeless pets!

Here is a card that I made featuring the Dog Years image which has this cute dog wearing a birthday party hat!  The DP I used is from the DCWV Pet Stack.  It is the same paper that I am using to make the 1st year album for Tasha!!  I love it!!  I colored in the image using Copic Markers and cut it out leaving a small border of white.  Then I matted it with coordinating Bazzill paper too.

The sketch I used (flipped horizontally and vertically) is the one for the challenge going on over at Paper Crafts Planet that Whimsie Doodles is sponsoring.  You can enter the challenge for a chance to win a $10 gift card for Whimsie Doodles.  So if you are interested in playing along (even if you don't have WD stamps) just click HERE to check it out!

For the sentiment I had to get a little creative in Photoshop and erase the dog and heart images that you see in the digistamp above.  I filled in the missing lines with a black fine tip marker.  I then altered the size of the sentiment to fit inside the bone and ran it through the printer again .  I subtly highlighted the sentiment with a pale BG marker from Copics.

For added dimension I popped up the dog on some foam tape then added the golden yellow twill tape and three coordinating brads!!  Finally to finish it off I added a frame of machine stitching to the outer edges of the card!!  Whatcha think??

I hope your week is winding down nicely.  Tomorrow is Friday already and on top of that I am off call too!!  Please have a wonderful day and may your bucket overflow with the desire to help homeless animals!

How Sweet It Is!!

How sweet it is

that I got to play along with the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch again!

It's been far too long since I played along with this great sketch challenge and I have missed it!  But this week is a special occasion because as an {ippity}Chick I am sponsoring this week's challenge. Please check out all the details at the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog.  I hope you will decide to play along!!

There is even a chance to win a FREE {ippity} stamp set for doing so!!

Here is the sketch for this week...

And here is the card that I made...

I used the Sweet Thoughts of Spring set from {ippity}
and so did all the DT members from the SSW blog.
The  stamps that were used to make this card include...
  • The chick
  • The thought bubble and sentiment
  • The scalloped border

To celebrate my sponsoring the SSW sketch challenge this week I am offering a
really SWEET Sale over at my {ippity} sales blog.

To get this set at a great discount and
for a chance to win a FREE {ippity} stamp set please visit

(my sales blog)
to find out all the details

How can you resist this adorable little chick!! Don't you just love him??

I colored him (or is it a her?) with Copic markers.  The thought bubble originally came out of the wrong side of the cloud in relation to the chicks head, so I used my stamp-a-majig and masked it so it could be stamped on the opposite side!

Hope you like what you saw today!

And don't forget to stop by my sales blog to buy this stamp set
at a great sale price and to have a chance to win a FREE stamp set!

Have a great day and may your bucket overflow with the sweet signs of spring!!

An October Afternoon Kind of Evening

Please scroll down to see my post with the
New Release Whimsie Doodle Stamps

Happy Friends with Flair Friday!!

I am so happy that it is Friday, because I am off call.  And since today is one of the only four days I get off for the whole month of March I plan on making it special.  And I can't think of a better way to start my day then by visiting the blogs of 50 of my favorite Unity Stamp Co. Friends!!  If you want to hop along with us, then go the the Unity blog for the whole list of blogs and be prepared to be inspired.

So last evening I had a great time playing with my Unity stamps and some October Afternoon.  While at CHA I picked up some paper samples of both the two new lines released by OA.  One is called The Thrift Shop  and the other is called Fly a Kite.  They gave out 3 x 4 inch samples stapled together in little packs.  They are the perfect size to use for some cards!! And can I just say that I am LOVING these new lines!! I will definitely be getting the new packs!!

The card I made uses some paper from the Fly a Kite line and another sketch from SCS.  Today's sample uses SC24.  It worked perfectly to use paper scraps on...

The Berry Good Life Unity stamp set (which is only for purchase through a retailer right now) was perfect to go with this strawberry paper from OA.  I stamped the sentiment directly onto my Kraft card base and then pieced the strawberries that I colored with Copics

The basket of strawberries was also colored with Copics and then popped up on top of the paper strips.  I added the three blue contrasting brads for more color and to repeat the circular elements on the DP.

Thanks so much for taking a look at my blog and please keep scrolling down to see my Whimsie Doodle Post for today!

Also please check out my {ippity} Sales Blog.  I have updated my blog with shopping cart buttons to make your shopping experience easier.  Shipping costs are included in my low prices, so head on over to There's Ippity in My Bucket!

Have a wonderful Friday and may your bucket overflow with fun time off this weekend!

Happy Thursday!

Hello there and I hope you are having a great week!!

Guess why I am happy this Thursday?

Well for me, today is like my Friday!!
I have tomorrow off and I can't wait!!  :-)

I hope to have a fun day participating in tomorrow's Friends with Flair blog hop and creating some cards with my friend Vianna who is coming over to craft with me!!  I am so looking forward to my day off!!

For today I am going to start you off with three snippets that I can share with you for
tomorrow's new release at Whimsie Doodles!

Got some ideas of what you will be seeing in full tomorrow?  Well trust me when I say that you won't be disappointed!  Once again Melyssa has created some fabulous digi AND rubber stamps for you!!

Come back tomorrow to see all the new goodies!!

Today I am going to share with you another card I made
for last Friday's VSN challenges

This one was called Snow Blind, FEB10VSND. Our challenge was to create a card that contained mostly white including the cardstock, DP and embellies. We were allowed to color our images a little though!

The great news is that I was able to sneak in another sketch from the  Master Sketch list on my journey to work through all the SCS sketch challenges.

Here is the sketch that I used...SC21

As you can see I flipped the sketch upright.  My panels were created using white CS that I embossed in two different patterns with CB Embossing Folders.  And then for the main image panel I cut out a shape using a Nestie Labels 4.

Here is a closeup of the image I chose to use.  I called my card White Wedding.  But I think this could also be given to someone who just got engaged too.  I thought it came out pretty nice considering the 45 minute time restriction to making our creations!  the stamp is from SU and the ribbon is a recycled one from a package I got at Christmas!  I used Copics to color the little bits of pink on the dress and the tiny pearls are from Studio 18 I believe.

Sorry for the crappy pictures, but I am happy to say that I have fixed one of the lights for my light box that has been  broken for  a while now and I should be able to get better pictures without so much shadowing in the future!

Well I am off to get busy making some more cards!!  I hope you all have a wonderful day and I will be back tomorrow for a really fun day!!  May your bucket be flowing over with fun things to look forward to on your days off this weekend!!

My First Time!

Believe it or not, but friday night was my first time ever playing along in a
VSN (Virtual Stamp Night) Challenge on SCS!

I don't know why I haven't, but I guess I didn't know what I was missing!!  I did participate in last years National Card Making Day challenges on SCS which worked similarly to the VSN's, but this was my first actual VSN.

If you don't know about VSN's you can find out more about them HERE on SCS.  But basically once a month on Friday evening and Saturdays a group of amazing hostesses host a new themed challenge every hour which you have 45 minutes to complete.  The deadline to upload your cards is by Monday at 10pm. and there are prizes to win and so much fun to be had!

I encourage all of you to participate when you get a chance.  What I liked most about it was challenging myself to come up with a card that I liked in under an hour.  I have been known to drag out my process of card making and it is nice to know that I can actually finish one faster!!  This information can be very helpful given all the deadlines that I tend to have to work under!

The theme of this last VSN was the Olympics.  So the first challenge we were given... FEB10VSNA by Denise (resqbarbie on SCS) was to follow the sketch that was made after the Inukshuk Olympic symbol this year...

And here is the sketch...

Using the new MME Home Paper pad, this is what I came up with...

I used a gray Bazzill paper for my base and also ran a cream colored cardstock through my Script texture CB embossing Folder and inked up the raised parts with my trusty Jumbo Java colored Versamagic ink.  I decided to combine the two lower panels into one (that was an option provided.) It was easy to use coordinated paper to take some of  the work out of making this card!! For VSN challenges it is all about NOT wasting any time!!

The big sunflower from Rubber Stampede was placed to represent the head on the stone figure.  The sentiment is from Impression Obsession which I distressed using the same Jumbo Java ink.  I used my Copics to color in the sunflower.

I will have more of my challenge cards to share with you in the future, but for now I have to run!  Thanks for taking a look and I will see you tomorrow for a sneak peek at some new Whimsie Doodles releases coming up!

It is ugly, cold and drizzling here so this sunflower is just a tease of what I pray will be coming to Florida soon!  Have a wonderful Wednesday and may your bucket overflow with stamps that feel like the sun even if it isn't shining outside!!

Birds, Rainbows and Friends with Flair

Happy Friday Everyone!!

How cool is it that my weeks get to start with an
{ippity} blog hop and end with a Unity blog hop
Isn't that great??

So it's Friday which means it's time for the weekly Friends With Flair blog hop where Unity peeps use Unity Stamps to inspire each other!  It's a great day!!  For the complete list of the blogs participating in the blog hop, head over to the Unity blog to get the list!  And don't forget to look for the "Flair Blinkie" for a chance to win a prize!!

I have a couple of cards to share with you today  and both of them use stamps from

My first card was made for last week's FWF Challenge FWF13 where we were inspired by Lisa's Card HERE!  And it was also inspired by yesterday's Ways to Use it Challenge WT259 on SCS called For the Love of Lace.  Where we were to use lace on our card...

The sentiment I chose is from {ippity's) Just Wanted to Say set.  The DP is from Basic Grey's Nook & Pantry line.  The flower is Prima and the button is from Clear and Simple stamps.

The adorable chipboard bird is a freebie I received while at CHA.  It is laser cut and is made by ScrapFX.  The lace is from JoAnn's.

My next card follows this week's SCS Sketch Challenge SC269.  Here is a picture of the sketch...

For my card I stayed true to the sketch and used papers from the MME line called Quite Contrary.  Some of these papers can be obtained by getting the paper pack sold for {ippity}  To get this paper pack for free, all you have to do is purchase a complete set of the Winter Release Stamp sets from me and I will throw that in at no additional charge!  :-)

I colored the rainbow and clouds in using Copic markers.

The sunshine ribbon is from the Dollar Spot at Target.  I couldn't resist it and felt it went perfectly with the stamps I chose to use on this card!  I love the touch of yellow it adds!

If you are interested in buying any {ippity} stamps, please visit my sales blog for great pricing!  I have every of the Winter Release sets in stock and even some of the Fall ones too!

Enjoy the rest of the FWF Hop and may your bucket overflow with pretty rainbows and sweet birdies!!
