Happy Thursday!

Hello there and I hope you are having a great week!!

Guess why I am happy this Thursday?

Well for me, today is like my Friday!!
I have tomorrow off and I can't wait!!  :-)

I hope to have a fun day participating in tomorrow's Friends with Flair blog hop and creating some cards with my friend Vianna who is coming over to craft with me!!  I am so looking forward to my day off!!

For today I am going to start you off with three snippets that I can share with you for
tomorrow's new release at Whimsie Doodles!

Got some ideas of what you will be seeing in full tomorrow?  Well trust me when I say that you won't be disappointed!  Once again Melyssa has created some fabulous digi AND rubber stamps for you!!

Come back tomorrow to see all the new goodies!!

Today I am going to share with you another card I made
for last Friday's VSN challenges

This one was called Snow Blind, FEB10VSND. Our challenge was to create a card that contained mostly white including the cardstock, DP and embellies. We were allowed to color our images a little though!

The great news is that I was able to sneak in another sketch from the  Master Sketch list on my journey to work through all the SCS sketch challenges.

Here is the sketch that I used...SC21

As you can see I flipped the sketch upright.  My panels were created using white CS that I embossed in two different patterns with CB Embossing Folders.  And then for the main image panel I cut out a shape using a Nestie Labels 4.

Here is a closeup of the image I chose to use.  I called my card White Wedding.  But I think this could also be given to someone who just got engaged too.  I thought it came out pretty nice considering the 45 minute time restriction to making our creations!  the stamp is from SU and the ribbon is a recycled one from a package I got at Christmas!  I used Copics to color the little bits of pink on the dress and the tiny pearls are from Studio 18 I believe.

Sorry for the crappy pictures, but I am happy to say that I have fixed one of the lights for my light box that has been  broken for  a while now and I should be able to get better pictures without so much shadowing in the future!

Well I am off to get busy making some more cards!!  I hope you all have a wonderful day and I will be back tomorrow for a really fun day!!  May your bucket be flowing over with fun things to look forward to on your days off this weekend!!

Winter Gingers, WD Sneak Peek Day 2

Using this week's Mojo Monday sketch (found HERE) and some pretty Christmas papers from MemoryBoxCo's Spiceberry collection, I created this Christmas card with one of the new Ginger sets being released this Thursday at Whimsie Doodles!

The adorable little Gingers called Holiday Gingers are paired together and playing with some Christmas tree ornaments that I colored with Copic Markers and then covered in Sakura Gelly Roller ink to add some shimmer. This set includes the image and the sentiment you see used in my card.

I added a white Souffle marker to the piped frosting on each of the gingers and colored them also with my Copics to coordinate with my papers. The border punch used is from Martha Stewart and so are the snowflake punches that I used to accent the card with. The ribbon is from an online purchase through EBay.

Count Down to New Whimsies!! Sneak Peek Day 1

Good Monday morning to everyone! I hope that you had a great weekend! I am finally back on call again after six glorious days off in a row!! My family went camping this weekend and we had a very relaxing time with our friends and family. I was thrilled to have gotten as much done as I did during my time off, but I don't feel really rested!! LOL!!

This week is a very exciting week for me!! There is a LOT of stuff going on and you will hear about it as it all draws near. But let's start with the first order of business which is that Whimise Doodles sneak peeks begin today for the upcoming release of some new digital stamps and cutting files on Thursday October 15th!

Today we are sharing with you sneak peeks for two of the new releases. I have incorporated both of them into my card below...
The little skater girl comes in the set called Go Figure and the sentiment that I chose to pair with her is from the Axelent Christmas set. Both sets come with an image and at least one sentiment!

This view might show you better how I added some Fun Flock to the fur portion of her winter coat and also how I add glittery snow to the edge of the ice rink. The DP I used for the base is from My Mind's Eye and the contrasting red holly paper is from Cosmo Cricket. Copic markers were used to color her in.

This sentiment is sold in the Axelent Christmas set that comes with an image of a pair of skates. As you can see though, this sentiment can be paired with the Go Figure image too! To frame the sentiment for this card I just positioned my Nestabilitie Label number 4 over the top part of the sentiment and then hand trimmed it to go straight down.

To create the ice pond I used one of the Frosted ShortCuts full sheets and cut it out free form to look like a pond. I layered a piece of white CS under the frosted card base and then added the glittery snow to the edges and also to her skate line.

To see some more of the WD Winter images in Sneak Peeks today, please visit the following blogs...

I hope that you have taken advantage of the opportunity to get some WD stamps and try them out! You know you can even get some FREE ones from the WD blog, so I encourage you download some and see for yourself just how cute they are. Plus the quality of the images that prints out is perfect and they are a lot of fun to color too!!

A "Sweet" Whimsie Doodles Sneak!

(Mom if you don't want to see the Halloween card I am going to give you this year then
STOP reading and exit right now!! LOL!! )

Today was one of those fortuitous days when things happened to line up just right. I knew I had to post the sneak peek for Whimsie Doodles before tomorrow's release but I also had to post my Sweet Sketch Wednesday Sketch card today. So, I decided to combine two assignments into one card!! And then in addition to that, the card I made also fits this week's challenge at the Digital Tuesday Challenge blog! How lucky is that??

Here is the today's sketch that you can use for this week's challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. This week is not sponsored, so there aren't any prizes to be awarded, but we would still love for you to play along.

And here is the card I made that combines the above sketch with the soon-to-be released Voodoo Mummy and the Digital Tuesday challenge to include a heart on your project.

The striped DP is from MM and the Boo paper is from DCWV. I used my Recollections black cardstock as the base and matting for the image.

To create the brick wall that the Voodoo Mummy is sitting on, I masked the mummy image and used a background stamp from Stampin' Up with Really Rust SU ink. I shaded it with a little of c1 colored Copic Marker. The mummy is also colored with Copics. Coloring things that are white can be a challenge, but in this case I added some shades of tan and peach to give a skin color and also a worn, dirty look on the bandages. Then for a little pop of color I made the safety pin orange, the heart red and the button eye green!! I just love Melyssa's images!!

I thought the gauze that I added as the two accent strips next to the main image was a fun idea. I was trying to mimic the mummy's gauze wrap! Not sure I did, but I tried!! :-)

Now, for YOUR assignments....

Please go to the Whimsie Doodles Blog and leave a comment for Melyssa. She is going to pick one lucky winner from the comments on each of the sneak peeks to win that image. Good Luck with that!! Remember that all three images we have shown you this week go on sale beginning tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 1st.)

Also head over to the Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog and see what the rest of the DT has done with this sketch. Some of them created a second card with a bonus sketch that Arlana did, so there is lots of eye candy to look hat.
And if you haven't heard about the Digital Tuesday Challenge blog you should visit there too. This is the first time that I have played along, but I definitely plan on going back there again!

Keep scrolling down to see the post I made earlier this morning
showing you the last of my September projects for SheetLoad of Cards...
Have a Sweet Wednesday and may good things happen fortuitously to fill your bucket today!!

"Ghoul" Friends are to Die For!!

Melyssa has done it again!! This Ghoul Friends digistamp with accompanying phrase is set to be released for sale on Thursday, October 1st at the Whimsie Doodles blog!

Have you seen anything cuter lately?? I am in love with the sweetness of this set. It was so fun to color with my Copic Markers too. The bright and cheery candy corn DP is from the Recollections paper pad available at Michael's. The orange die cut strip comes from a laser cut sheet from Bazzill. The small white square rub-ons in two rows is from American Crafts. All the flowers are from Prima and the brad is from Basic Grey. I used the Nestie label 3 and trimmed the bottom so it was square. I repeated the same shape by only cutting the top portion of the sentiment panel.

Have you tried digistamping yet??
There is no reason not too. Once you have your image printed onto your cardstock it feels no different than stamping with red rubber or acrylic stamps. Melyssa even has two FREE digis available on her website so you can try digistamping without investing any money until you know you like it! And trust me you will!!

The Whimsie Turtle you can download immediately from the site and the Berry Much Bear you will get when you sign up to receive the Whimsie Doodles Newsletters. I hope that you will give them a try! Just click on either of the pictures above to be taken the WD blog where you can get them!

Be sure to come back tomorrow for one more sneak peek before Thursday's new images are released!! Have a great day and my your bucket flow over with lots of "ghoul" friends!

Feeling Just a Little Bit Wicked!

Well at least this adorable witch is that will be released from Whimsie Doodles on October 1st!

Isn't she amazing? I just love every part of her from her funky glasses to her clunky shoes, I think she is great! This witch image called Witchy Girl and she comes in digital format with two sentiment options; the one you see here and another one that says "Bewitched by You."

What a perfect card to send to your significant other if you are feeling a little naughty! Or she could be added to your child's scrapbook page remembering that special year she dressed up as a witch!

The DP and CS used for this card come from the MM Spooky Alley Paper Pad. The border trim was made using a MS punch. The ribbon is from PaperTrey Ink. To get an idea on the size of the images, I printed these directly out onto GP white CS without adjusting the sizes at all. The finished card size you see above is 5 x 6 1/2 inches.

The Witchy Girl was colored in using Copic markers. I created the starry background by stamping a small star background stamp I have from Unity's Little Sprout set using Versamark ink and then I lightly rubbed grey and black chalk over it! It provided the perfect amount of grunge to the card and repeated the star pattern you see in the DP.
Want a chance to win this great digistamp set? Simply go visit the main Whimsie Doodles blog and check out one of the cards that Melyssa created and leave a comment. She will be choosing one random winner for each sneak peek!!

Whimsie Doodles Sneak Peek!

Melyssa at Whimsie Doodles is releasing some new digistamps tomorrow and I am excited to be showing you a Sneak Peek of one of her new images today! If you come back tomorrow I will show you more of the new releases and also another project I have made for this release. As always, they are all adorable and you won't want to miss getting them!

Today's project is super easy and shows off one of the wonderful advantages that digistamps have over traditional rubber stamps. Because digistamps are electronic image files, and are printed out using your home printer, they can also be printed out on anything that can run through your printer.

For my project today I am using T-shirt Transfer paper to print on and then I am ironing it onto my project!

Here is a cute little Trick-or-Treat bag that I made using a cheap Michael's canvas bag and a digistamp from the Bits and Bites set being released tomorrow at Whimsie Doodles.

With each digistamp you purchase from Melyssa, you receive a jpg and png file. The neat thing about the png files is that no matter how you resize them, they maintain their print quality. As you can see from a closeup below, I enlarged this image from its original size of 1.9" x 2.6" to nearly four times its size at 4.09" x 5.63" and you can see how it has maintained a very clear quality without pixelating.

To add to the project I added my own text box in Microsoft Word to include the "Happy Halloween" sentiment on the bag. And I also added my own ribbon bow and button that I placed over the Skull's drawn bow for extra dimension and interest.

This adorable image called the Skull will be available tomorrow at Whimsie Doodles in the Bits & Bites Halloween digistamp set. Don't be afraid!! Be sure to get yours right away!!

If you want to be sure to never miss out on any new releases or specials that Melyssa may be having over at Whimise Doodles, be sure to head on over to her blog and sign up for the newsletter. In so doing, you will be sent the adorable digistamp you see pictured below!

Have a great Monday and may your bucket overflow with easy projects for the upcoming holidays!

Whimsie Doodles Sneak Peek!

While I am writing this I am waiting in my niece's labor room while she is being induced. Hopefully by tomorrow's post I will have pictures and a report on Ava Rae and her birth!!
Today I am sharing with you a sneak peek for the next Whimsie Doodle digistamp set being released tomorrow. It is called "Have a Seat" and contains the cutest chair and accessory images. I chose to use the iced tea pitcher and glass from this set that comes with the sweetest friendship sentiment!

The DP is called Lizzie Scallop Stripe which is double sided with the yellow on the reverse. I used my new ribbon trio tag and my scalloped square from Nestability. The ribbon sources are unknown and dew drops from Stamping Bella were added to the main image for accent. The image was colored with Copic Markers.

Want to see some more sneak peeks with the new WD Release?
Check out my fellow DT members and the WD blogs for some inspiration...
Wish Lindsay luck and a great, safe labor and I will be back tomorrow! May your day be special and may our bucket overflow with tiny toes, fingers and a healthy new baby in our family!

WD Sneak Peek Day 3

This is my second post for today so please scroll down
to see my Sweet Sketch Wednesday post!

So between this post and the last I managed to get a few hours sleep and have also taken my daughter Leah to the dentist for her wisdom teeth extraction. I am back to playing the dual role of being mommy/nurse. You know how when you just don't feel well that it is great when mommy can help you. Leah is 22 and still needs and wants her mommy when she is sick! Ricky continues to do well too and thinks his vision keeps getting a little better each day! Thanks again for your prayers.
Now onto my next Whimsie Doodles Sneak Peeks!!

Today is the third day of sneak peeks as we count down to the next release day of some more adorable Whimsie Doodles digistamps. And the great news is that today I can show you two of the upcoming stamps!

The first digistamp is called Halloween Going Batty! And here is the sneak that you get to peek at...

Going Batty Over You!

With this card I tried to make it look like you were getting a glimpse at moon lit night sky with the eery gray colorings that you sometimes see when it is stormy outside. I got to use the new Mica Gloss inks (Silver and copper) that I bought from Judikins at CHA. I kind of splurged and bought all the colors they had! I am so glad that I did because I love this stuff!! It is shimmery and also does not muddy up when you mix colors together. With the mica it keeps it color intact. The photo was a pretty good representation of how it looks shining in the light.

The clouds come from the Whimsie Doodles Sunny Day set that was released on the 1st of August. That set is a must have because it has some adorable trees and field scenes too that could be used for so many card or SB projects But the clouds colored gray with my Copics were the perfect addition to complete the scene.

The DP is another old one I had stashed and it is from Scrap Rack, the doilie that I cut to use as a border is from BG and the black CS is from Recollections. The ribbon is from PTI... I love that black and white gingham!!

The Going Batty stamp set comes with the bat, moon, stars and the sentiment you see at the bottom on the tag I made. Isn't it just so stinking cute??

On to sneak peek number two for today!!

This was another fun project to make. I don't know about you, but I have a buying and hoarding problem for all things alterable! I can't pass up the dollar bins without finding something I think I will alter and my Michael's always cool unfinished wood items that are the best things to alter and pretty up!

So I decided to make a treat bag that is actually made out of wood and decorate it with the next stamp I am going to show you. This Whimsie Doodles digistamp is called Halloween Cat and Friends and is the perfect image for Halloween!!

I made this project using that stamp and a little play on words...

Halloween KIT-ty KAT Bag!

Did you get my play on words?? Kit Kat bar and Kit-ty Kat bag? HeHe!! The DP is from BG's Ambrosia pack and I modge podged it to the wooden bag after cutting out a template. The ribbon is from PTI.

I printed the digistamp out onto PTI CS and then colored it in with my Copic Markers and also sponged the ground and the sky with my SU inks. I framed the circle with more nesties and then printed out the sentiment to fit the project. The font I used was called Cooper Black.

That does it for today's sneaks, but if you still want to see more, please visit the Whimsie Doodles blog where you will always be blown away by Melyssa's talents. And don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win one of these sets FREE when she has the drawing on Saturday the New Release day!!

Have a great day and may your bucket overflow with lots of chocolate!

WD Sneak Peek- Day 2, Hanging Around Halloween Door Hanger

Quick Update on Ricky!

Thanks so much to each and everyone of you who have been praying for my son and his eye injury. I know prayers are being answered because we got more good news yesterday at the Retinal Specialists. His retina appears to be attached with a low risk of having any problems. He is seeing out of his right eye, but could only see the biggest letter E on the eye chart. It is still improvement from the night of the accident so I am relieved at that. The blood that has collected inside his eye is slowly being absorbed and settling which will continue to improve and should allow his vision to eventually return to normal. His is supposed to be taking it very easy and we are continuing with frequent drops and ointments to help his corneal laceration heal.
Thank you all for your continued prayers until he is back to normal!!
Whimsie Doodles Sneak Peek Day 2: Hanging Around

So did you enjoy your sneak peeks of yesterday's image? Did you sign up to have a chance at winning the free set yesterday on the WD blog? Well I just found out that every day this week as a new sneak peek is revealed you will have a chance at winning that set on Saturday the first of August. So if you visit the WD blog each day, you will have a chance at winning each of the new stamp sets being released this week! I hope that you are going to do that. All these new realeases are amazingly cute!!
Today's project is one that I am really stoked about! I love how it came out and I can't wait to show you! It uses the Hanging Around image which is of a spider and its web. Even if you are an arachnophobe, you won't be with this cute little bugger!

I decided to make a door hanger that can be displayed on a front door for the Halloween season. And here is how it came out...

The finished project is about 9x12 inches. It is made out of cardstock with a chipboard backing and it is designed to look like a banner of sorts. The BOO word is a MM chipboard accessory that I bought last year and have been hoarding for just the right time. I thought now was as good a time as ever. I modge podged the DP (from MM) to the top of the letters. IRL it looks brighter than it shows up on film.

Here is a closer look at the completed project on a white background...

Here is a close up view of the image that we are showcasing today...

Hanging Around digistamp preview from Whimsie Doodles

Didn't I tell you that he is just adorable? Who could be afraid of that little spider? If you look carefully you might be able to see that I glittered the web after I colored it in with my Copic Markers? Then using an Exacto knife I carefully cut around it and adhered it to the top of the last "O" in BOO!
Today we are also beginning to showcase some of the Halloween Button Sentiments that will also be released on Saturday. The Treat circle below uses one of those sentiments. Did you notice that the letter "T" is actually syringes? Isn't that just perfectly creepy for Halloween? I love it!!

For this button sentiment I enlarged it to about 3 inches and then framed it with a nestie circle and nestie scalloped circle. The great thing about digital stamps in png format is that you can reduce or enlarge them to fit your needs and they don't lose any quality when printed.
And here is one last look at my completed project...
