Blog Candy Chance and Seeing Triple!

Hello to everyone in blogville! How are you doing today? I am one happy camper, because I just got done spending time with ALL of my kids at one time! That so rarely happens, and especially on a Tuesday evening since two of my kids have moved away already! Leah my second oldest daughter who attends the Univ of FL came home tonight for Spring Break until Sunday. Her arrival into town prompted my oldest daughter Michelle to also come over. We spent some time together watching old videos of their Color Guard days in High School. Like I said, I am one happy camper tonight!

Enough about us... :-)

I was searching some blogs this morning looking for my daily dose of inspiration that I often get from doing Challenges on various blogs, when I stumbled upon a blog called Created by Courtney. She is offering a chance for one lucky, random winner to receive a $50 gift certificate to Sweet and Sassy Stamps! They have awesome, adorable stamps and I would really love to win that! If you would be interested in a chance at winning too, just go to her blog, begin following it, leave her a comment and make a mention of it on your blog too! It is that simple!
While you are there, take advantage of the challenges and great eye candy to inspire you! Thanks Courtney for the chance to win... Wish me luck!!

So on to my challenges and seeing triple today! I completed a card today that incorporates only two challenges (I know that is a slow day for me... hehe!) But in this card you will find that threes pop up a lot! First of all, the little boy Aaron that I created the card for turns three this Sunday, so of course I had to use the number three (three times no less!) Then I used three balloons, and three primary colors too! Finally to make sure that the balance was correct on the card, I also had three red embellishments to form a triangle drawing your eye around the card. One of them is the red balloon in the top right corner, one is the red circle under the number three next to Happy Birthday and the last one is the small red I placed on the bottom right of the card.

The technique used on the accent piece behind the embellishments is called Serendipity Squares. The challenge to use these came from the Cuttlebug Spot from Monday. They have links to directions on their site!
The sketch I (loosely) used comes from Jen DelMurro's Sketch For You To Try (SFYTT) that was posted Saturday. Here is the sketch...

Here is what I did with it!

The Fine Print: DP: not sure; CS: The Paper Company; Stamps: Whipper Snapper Designs, Anna Wight balloons, Sentiment: SU; Cuttlebug, Sticker Numbers: BG; Circle Punches: EK Success; Nestabilities; Ink: ColorBox, and Amuse Black, Pop dots, wedding favor doo dads for the balloon string; Opaque White Pen: InkEssentials; Number Collage Embossing plate: Cuttlebug.

Hopefully it still qualifies as her sketch even though I did twist things a bit and add some embellies I needed to complete the card. I hope you can still see the basic sketch as my starting point for the card.

I loved the primary colors for this young boy, and although it seems a little busy , I did like how the completed project turned out. It has a lot of dimension. You can see a side view of the depth I gave it by adding pop dots to my embellishments!

I started another card and finally got a chance to ink up one of my new Unity stamps, but you will have to wait to see that until I get the card completed! I love my new stamps!! Have you signed up for the blog hop yet??? It is going to be fun!!

Have a great night, and may your bucket overflow with more than three things you love!! Mine is overflowing with my four kids and my husband Tom!

Wow this is beautiful Kelly! Your serendipity piece turned out so well I had to look twice to make sure it wasn't just printed paper! Love the colors and you chose and what a great folder to emboss with. Great take on the sketch too. Thanks for playing along with The Cuttlebug Spot.
