Hello Everyone!
I am not superstitious at all and feel that today is actually a lucky day for me!! Sorry for not posting over the last couple of days, but I have been getting killed at work...lots of deliveries, sick babies requiring transportation to other hospitals and an all nighter! I am frustrated because of the lack of time I have had to spend making cards! I am waaaaay behind in my challenges!! I am very happy right now because not only is it Friday, but it is the start of a three day weekend and my daughter Leah is still home for Spring Break! I have hardly had time to spend with her the last couple of days. She also likes to do scrapbooking and card making, so maybe we will work together in my scraproom!
I was able to finish the one card I told about in my last post! The self-proclaimed Challenge Combination Queen that I am was at it again! However I only ended up combining two challenges into this one card when my original intent was to use three!!
I first tried to use this week's SCS color challenge using Always Artichoke, Rose Red and Black, but I just couldn't get my Copic coloring to match the Rose Red paper from SU, so I scrapped that idea and just ended up using the right color of red to match my stamped image!
Here is the card I created...
The Fine Print: DP: DCWV; CS: SU and the Paper Co.; Stamp: Unity; Ink: Amuse and Copics; Buttons: varied; Border Punch: Martha Stewart; Flower Soft
This card incorporates the sketch from Inspirational Card Sketches, ICSketch #7 with the Sketches by Tamara Recipe Challenge. The three ingredients I chose to incorporate onto my card were a cluster of three buttons, a punched border, and the color black!
This mushroom stamp is one of my favorite ones that came in the February Unity Kit Club. I think it is so cute and retro!! For the first time I broke out my Flower soft and added it to the grass to try and make it appear like little flowers in the meadow. I incorporated faux stitching by using my piercing tool and my opaque white pen. I just love this DP that is from DCWV called the Green Stack. It is made from 70% recycled paper and is a collection of the cutest colors and critters!
I apologize for the poor quality picture... the lighting was terrible in my scraproom and the sun had set already for the day, so there was no chance to snap this one in natural lighting!
Wish me luck that I will have some quality time to spend in my room making more cards and possibly even a SB layout or two this weekend! I will come back and post any eye candy for you that I complete!
Thanks as always for stopping by my blog and I will chat with you soon!
May your bucket be overflowing with days off to enjoy doing the things you love with the people you love!
