Everything is Extraordinary...

...in the right light at the right time!

I had fun today playing with some new Unity stamps and a couple of sketches. I know since most of your are card makers and scrapbookers, that you know the importance of good lighting on your subjects or projects when you want to take a picture. Well this quote from Unity's new September Kit of the Month is so true.

It says that

"In the right light at the right time, ...everything is EXTRAORDINARY!!!"

Isn't that true?? It is a great reminder that things appear differently because of our perspective. I hope this will come to my mind more often when I need to look at things from a different angle!!!

I worked with the Monday sketch for the Sketchfest challenge going on over at Caardvarks. I am going to try and complete each sketch everyday so that I can have a chance at being considered one of Caardvarks new DT members. The sketches are awesome, and as is if the chance to be on the DT wasn't enough, Studio Calico is sponsoring the event and is giving away some amazing prizes!!

Here is the sketch that we were given...

And here is the card that I made for the challenge...

I just love the vintage looking old fashioned lamp that came in Unity's Sept KOM and so I just had to use it and the awesome quote above on today's project. I tried to go very vintage with the look on this card to match the antique looking lamp. It reminds me so much of a lamp that you would see in a Victorian B&B or at your Great Grandmother's house. The DP I used is from MM's English Garden collection.
I framed out the sentiment with a nestie and then used it as a template to sponge on. The blue rub-on is from American Crafts. The lace is from Joann's and I added just a pop of red to liven it all up a bit. Can you see where I added little tiny red rhinestones (Michael's Jewelry Essentials) to the fringe on the lamp to make it appear like crystals you would see on a chandelier? I was hoping that the DP would mimic old-fashioned wall paper!
Thanks for taking a look at my submission! I like how it came out because I love all things frilly and girly!! It was fun to put together!
Have a great night and may your bucket overflow with more space on your DVR than TV shows to record!! Thank God for new TV programming starting back up again!! :-)
