Well actually I have a card that I made from one of the new sets called Fish Tales that is being released today at Whimsie Doodles. You are going to go nuts when you see this! It is truly an amazing set with so much versatility. It is one that can appeal to male as well as female tastes. Check it out for yourself... you will see what I mean.
For this birthday card I chose to use the Mermaid, the Clam shell and the Octopus! What?? you don't see an OCTOPUS on my card?? Well that's because I stretched it long ways before I printed it out and turned it upside and cut it's head off and used it as SEAWEED!!!!
Here is a closeup of the adorable mermaid. Since I wanted this card to have a magical feel to it, I used a lot of glitter both on the mermaid and on the sand. she is colored with my Copic markers. The DP I used is from K& Co's Addison collection. To add to the effect of the sea for the background paper, I ran it through the CB with one of my swirly embossing plates.
Many of the sentiments included in this set are very Punny!! This one was perfect for the magical card I was trying to create! The shell is a charm that I purchased at my LSS. It came in silver originally, but with a few swipes with my Elmer's Painters pen in opaque gold, I changed it to the color that I needed! For the glitter effects, I used my Sakura Gelly Roller, my Copic atyou Spica pen and some stickles!
Here is the other set that is being released today at Whimsie Doodles. This one is called Bits and Bites and is the perfect Halloween set to buy to get your Halloween cards, projects and layouts done with! Both sets are for sale today for only $4.99. It is truly a bargain when you see what all comes in a set and how you can use these images over and over again!!
