Blue, Blue and more Blue!

Today I have a card for you that I created to enter into a challenge on the Unity forum over at SCS. They are going to choose a winner from the cards entered and that person is going to be a Guest Designer on their site for the July release of their Kit of the Month!

I want to be that girl!! No.. I NEED to be that girl!! Can you even imagine how happy I would be if Unity would choose me to be a Guest DT member for them??? Seriously, you guys know how much I LOVE Unity!! I wouldn't even be able to contain myself!!

So anyway, the challenge was to create a monochromatic card using stamps from the April or May kits! The stamp part was easy... since I have both of those kits, but the monochromatic part...NOT so much!!

I recently got this K&Co DP on sale at Michael's and let it speak to me about what to do with it. So the color family I chose is blue, but it really leans more towards the aqua or teal family. How do you think I did? We were allowed to use a neutral color too... I used a little white also!

The Fine Print: DP: K&Co (Addison Collection); Stamps: Unity (Tree and sentiments: May KOM), (Bird on branch: April KOM); Sparkly Glitter glue; Sakura Gelly Roll; Ribbon: unsure, Felt Flower: Heidi Swapp (I believe); Ink: Amuse (Black), Colorbox (Teal); Circle Punch: EK Success; Machine stitching.
Here is a closeup of the birdie on a branch. I cut it off the branch and cleverly paperpieced it so that his wing would be from a glittered portion of the DP. He is so sweet sleeping in the tree all safe and sound isn't he?

In this shot I am trying to show you the bit of glitz and bling it has. It is kind of hard to tell, but I added the glitter glue to the center of each flower and then if you look in the bottom right hand corner it will be easiest for you see where I added the tiny glimmer dots using my Sakura Gelly Roll pen.

If I get a chance, I am going to try and make another entry!! I really want a chance at winning that DT spot!! Wish me luck!

Have a great day and may your bucket be overflowing with blue skies, blue birds and no blue thoughts!!
