An Inspired Sneak Peek!

MY BLOG CANDY contest is still going on! CLICK HERE for more information and to join in!! Contest closes on Saturday July 18th!

I am so excited to show you today's Sneak Peek project that I made for Whimsie Doodles! Remember, tomorrow the newly released digistamps will be available for purchase! Do you like what you have seen so far??? I think her digis just keep getting better and better and it is such a treat to get to work with them!

Sometimes things just fall into place and serendipitously inspiration can follow! Well, on Sunday I was trying to finish up my Sneak Peeks for WD when I decided to check out what SCS had as their inspirational challenge on Saturday. Occasionally it works out that I can combine a couple of challenges together (and you know how I love to do that! ) LOL!

So, IC188 from SCS sent us to this adorable website called Chasing Fireflies. From there I immediately was inspired to create something for today's sneak peek!

The image that I have to share with you today comes from one of Melyssa's latest digistamp sets called "Toothfairy." It is the most precious set and you can see it below...

She also made a boy version that is just as cute!!

Click HERE to see the inspiration from the Chasing Fireflies website that my project came from.

And here is what I created!! It is an adorable Toothfairy Box Door Hanger!!!

Who says you have to leave your kids teeth under their pillow?? Unfortunately my youngest child is 15 and hasn't lost a tooth in a very long time! But then I realized that my puppy is starting to get loose teeth! Do you think the toothfairy comes for dogs?? LOL!!

My project started out as a dollar find door hanger from Michael's. In fact there were three door hangers in one pack!

Add a little DP from K&Co. to the door hanger, make a box to hold the tooth and add lots of embellishments and you too can have your very own Toothfairy Box Door Hanger!

The box to hold the tooth was made using the Origami Box instructions by Jen Balcer in the SCS Resources section. Instead of using a sheet of paper 11 x 11 to start with, I cut mine in half to 5.5 x 5.5 so that my finished box would measure two instead of four inches.

The DP's are all from K&Co's Wild Raspberry Line. The flowers are from Prima. I used my Copics to color the Toothfairy, and to change the color of some of my glitter brads and flowers. I added clear glossy accents from InkEssentials to the tooth to make it look like a real shiny tooth with enamel! The box is held closed with a piece of coordinating twill tape and the box lid has two flowers attached with a brad to use as a handle!

Please head on over to the Whimsie Doodles Blog and check out what Melyssa has to show you today!
Also fellow DT member Nikki has a special sneak to share with you on HER BLOG!

Have a great day and may your bucket overflow with serendipitous inspiration!!

Kelly, that is absolutly adorable!!! I love the new sets. My son is 10 and has recently put it all together with the help of some class mates. They grow up so fast.

This door hanger is wicked Kelly! I remember when I was younger how the idea of the toothfairy coming into my room sort of freaked me out, so this is the perfect solution for those kids just like me ;)
