Sharing some SheetLoad Stuff!!

 I am still so sad to learn that SheetLoad of Cards will no longer be published after this month's issue.  (You can click on the cover of the current issue in my side bar to go to the SLC site and download your copy!)  But this last issue was spectacular!!  We had so many artists participating in this final issue and we were sponsored by a great digi company called Doodle Palace!!

I wanted to share with you a couple of cards that I submitted for this issue...Of course they both use the wonderful sketch that you can get from this month's issue!

 My first one uses Doodle Palace's Baby Bear with Sailboat image.  I made this card for a co-worker who just delivered a beautiful baby boy!  I love how the Cosmo Cricket papers can be masculine or feminine.  I colored my bear with Copic markers and tried to make it look textured by how I blended my markers together.

My second card for the December issue uses the Doggie in Stocking image.  For this card I used a variety of DP's from MME and a Nestabilitie to frame the main image!  I colored the image with my Copics!  This will be a great card to give to one of the youngster's in my family for Christmas!

SheetLoad Share and Sneak Peeks

Before the month ends I wanted to share with you the last project that I made for September's SheetLoad eZine issue. If you remember, JessicaLynnOriginal sponsored our September issue and was gracious to let us use some of her cute stamps. She is the designer who made the adorable owl stamps called Brentwoods.

Using her Evan and Evee Christmas Caroling Digistamp and the September's sketch, I created this Christmas card for the upcoming holidays.

The digistamp was printed out on my inkjet printer and then I always heat set the ink before I color the images with my Copics. One technique to note is how I ran my red cardstock circle through the Cuttlebug with the snowflake embossing folder and then lightly sanded the raised edges to make it look white and to add texture.

I also wanted to add some bling for a really festive card so I also added rhinestones to the center of my snowflake punches and made the snow by sprinkling glitter over glue. Christmas always needs a little bling, bling!! LOL!

It wasn't my month to be featured in the eZine, but I did make my own card to go along with this month's sketch. I had ordered some Clear Card Blanks from the ShortCuts website and got a chance to play with them for this sketch.

How I made the sketch my own:

I turned the sketch vertically and flipped it horizontally. In place of one of the PP pieces I added ribbon instead. If you look carefully you can see how the clear card base in the photo. Using them really makes for some fun layering and dimensions in your cards! Go to ShortCuts and order some today! Alicia sells them in clear and frosted and they are very reasonable and shipped right away!! I love them and expect that you will be seeing me use them a lot more!!

So the Stampin' Out Alzheimer's event is over and what a wonderful fundraiser it was!! I had so much fun creating cards for the challenges and participating in the activities. I am still holding out for the possibility of having won a prize! (Snort!) I think they are announcing the winners today!
