We Have some New Whimsie Doodles for You!

Can you believe it has been a month since the last Whimsie Doodles release?  

Well it's now April (wow!) and that means it is time for a new set of stamps from WD!

 Yeah!!

Whimsie Doodles is ready to "swing" into Spring with some adorable new images!  All of these images are available starting today in the Whimsie Doodles store. Melyssa  has come up with some wonderful stamps that you are going to love!! Not only are they amazing designs, but her pricing is wonderful too!

I have a card to showcase for you that shows off her new stamp called 

Flowers From Leah

Isn't she just adorable?  I decided she looked like a sweet little girl who has some flowers to give to her Mommy for Mother's Day!  I used a sentiment stamp from SU to pair with this image.  The sketch is one of the SCS card sketches SC16.

Leah was colored in using Copic markers in colors to match the DP from Bo Bunny's Jazmyne line of papers. The image panel and card base are matted in Bazzill cardstock to match.  

This stamp is so versatile.  You could use it for a thank you card, an apology card, a congratulatory statement,  a thinking of you, missing you... and the list goes on!!  What a sweetie she is!!

 So, on to today's post which is near and dear to my heart!

There are so many things that I just love about Melyssa Connolly, owner and stamp designer of Whimsie Doodles stamps.  Not only is she super sweet and super talented, but she also has a soft spot in her heart for animals!!  As you know we rescued Tasha (our puppy) almost a year ago from a shelter and so animal shelters are something that we in our family feel strongly should receive support from us!

Melyssa has designed a special stamp set full of wonderful stamped images of cats and dogs and whimsical sayings too.  And she is graciously donating ALL of the proceeds from the stamp sales to a local SPCA.

Here is a card that I made featuring the Dog Years image which has this cute dog wearing a birthday party hat!  The DP I used is from the DCWV Pet Stack.  It is the same paper that I am using to make the 1st year album for Tasha!!  I love it!!  I colored in the image using Copic Markers and cut it out leaving a small border of white.  Then I matted it with coordinating Bazzill paper too.

The sketch I used (flipped horizontally and vertically) is the one for the challenge going on over at Paper Crafts Planet that Whimsie Doodles is sponsoring.  You can enter the challenge for a chance to win a $10 gift card for Whimsie Doodles.  So if you are interested in playing along (even if you don't have WD stamps) just click HERE to check it out!

For the sentiment I had to get a little creative in Photoshop and erase the dog and heart images that you see in the digistamp above.  I filled in the missing lines with a black fine tip marker.  I then altered the size of the sentiment to fit inside the bone and ran it through the printer again .  I subtly highlighted the sentiment with a pale BG marker from Copics.

For added dimension I popped up the dog on some foam tape then added the golden yellow twill tape and three coordinating brads!!  Finally to finish it off I added a frame of machine stitching to the outer edges of the card!!  Whatcha think??

Good Morning all!!  I Hope your week is shaping up nicely!! 

I am going to TRY and make this a quick post... I have a lot of things to get caught up since yesterday seemed to be big blur of birthday partying, vet visitng and blog hopping that kept me from getting some much needed work done!  I hope to be a card-producing fool today!!  :-)

Today the Spotlight is on CAS Cards and Whimsie Doodles! 

Every Monday a new Clean and Simple (CAS) Challenge is posted on the SCS Forum HERE .  Yesterday was the first day that one of my cards was featured as a new DT member.  It was so exciting.  I received so many wonderful comments on my card and I really appreciate that.  I hope to get into the Gallery  today to leave some love back for you guys!!  What I have seen so far looks amazing!!

The card that I made followed the challenge prompt that Jen (Miss Boo on SCS) gave us, which was to make a square card (SC56).  And it also followed a challenge given by Saturday Spotlight which was to "Clean it Up" and make a CAS style card.  Whimsie Doodles, my favorite digistamp company happens to be sponsoring the Saturday Spotlight challenge this week.  So if you want a chance at winning a $10 shopping spree from Whimsie Doodles then make a CAS and submit it to Saturday Spotlight for a chance to win.

To make this card I printed the elephant from Whimsie Doodles  Elephant Shoes digi after covering up the sentiment that came with it and replacing it with the one that you see here.  I needed to alter it so that it could be used for a birthday card instead of a Valentine!! 

See how versatile these stamps can be??  I Love that!!

I used just a small strip of the Cosmo Cricket paper which led me to the place where I knew I would pop the red with my Copics and accent CS.  And then I added the two brads to add the teal color and complement the circles in the DP.  The finished card is 4 x 4 inches square!  To give the balloon the "see through" appearance in the middle, I used the colorless blender to carefully remove some of the red coloring!
