A Whimsie Filled Wednesday!!

Happy Wednesday to all of you!!  

I hope your week is progressing nicely and that the horrible weather I keep hearing about isn't putting a damper on your plans!!  We here in FL are starting to feel another cold snap that I hear will be worse by Thursday!! Brrr!!  I am so ready for spring!!

If you didn't see my previous post about my new Blog Makeover then you might be seeing my new blog look for the first time today!!  I love the new feel to it and think it will be nicer for you to look at with some of the clutter removed!  I still haven't loaded up all my tabbed pages, but you can look for that to be coming soon!

So today is Wednesday and there is a new Whimsie Wednesday Challenge issued over at Paper Craft Planet in the Whimsie Doodles Forum.  Sheri has challenged us to create a card with a LOVE theme.  I hope that you will play along with us over at PCP and also upload your creations to SCS using the key words whimsiedoodles, and WWC18.

Sheri named the challenge "Love is in the Air" so I took it rather literally and made the adorable  

Cloud Nine Leah

The card is an Easel card that I found directions for over at SCS in the Resources section.  I colored  Cloud Nine Leah with Copic markers in colors to coordinate with the adorable Junkitz DP you see here.  The final touches were the flowers from Prima and MM that also help keep the Easel card held in position, the ribbon from an unknown source and the brad from BG.

Whimsie Doodles is releasing some new stamps on Feb 12th!

I Need a Vacation Still!!

Remember yesterday how I told you that in one day I had made two vacation cards? Well I wanted to share with you the second card I made. I must be getting really antsy for the vacation I do have planned coming up in October! For the first part of the week while I am off I am going to go nowhere! Then for a long weekend, my family and many of our friends are going to camping!! I can't wait for my vacation! It is going to be fun!!

This card incorporates two of the recent SCS challenges. One is the sketch challenge SC244 from the this week. And the other one is WT234 which was called Sand It. We were supposed to sand our card in some way or use sand on it! I took the opportunity to put some of these adorable beach images from Whimsie Doodles to good use. Shown here are images from the Beach Borders set, the sentiment from the Beach Sentiments set and the sun and clouds (which were used as a mask as I sponged the sky from the Sunny Day collection. The sand is from MuddPuddles.net and comes with the glue already mixed in! It also comes in tons of colors. The color used here is malibu sand.

I printed out the shovel, bucket, ball and shells twice and popped the second images on top of the first to add depth and make them look like they were submerged in the sand. The images were colored using my Copics. I just love the texture of this sand product and think it is perfect for beachy cards and layouts.

So look at this card and tell me that you don't want to go to Maui or Malibu on a vacation!!!
